Wednesday evening offers Bradley Stoke residents their chance to have their say (again!) on the new Tesco/town centre proposed development.
The issue comes under the microscope of the Planning, Environment and Amenities group at the town council.
At the last meeting, in May, several residents from nearby streets lodged objections citing fears of increased noise and traffic during and after construction.
At the time of the plan’s submission the planning chair, Jon Williams, told the BBC: “I’m very pleased to see the plans as I’ve been working with Tesco for three years looking at the proposal for a town centre.” [Read the full monty here]
But, Councillor Christopher Lees told the Evening Post there were some areas of concern: “I worry that the retail space will not be available for local businesses – it looks like it will be national firms.
“A hotel will bring traffic down from the motorway and is not really what we want in Bradley Stoke. It would be nice to have a few more community things there that we have been fighting for.” [Read all of that here]
If you want to go to the meeting then it’s on Wednesday, 26 July at 8pm at the Jubilee Centre on Savages Wood Road.
