The Bradley Stoke Examiner

Balcony fall dad charged with murder

Written by Chris (editor) on Wednesday August 30th, 2006 at 12:45 pm

The father of Liam Hogan, 6, who died after a fall from a balcony in Crete, has been formally charged with murder.

John Hogan appeared on Wednesday in Neapolis where he also was charged with the attempted murder of his daughter Mia.

Judging by the pictures Mr Hogan seems distraught as he is accompanied by his mother and sister.

Mr Hogan is now to face psychiatric examination, probably in the Greek capital Athens.

Nobody can fail to be moved by this tragedy, especially after Tuesday’s emotional funeral at Holy Trinity.

Unfortunately, according to the Mr Hogan’s lawyer, quoted on the BBC, any possible trial could be held up for up to 10 months.

That could mean the saddest story to hit Bradley Stoke will rumble on for many more months.
