Vandalism prompts fence action from firms

Written by Chris (editor) on Saturday February 24th, 2007 at 10:40 am

It appears a spate of petty vandalism has prompted businesses in Fountain Court to invest in a new security fence.

A planning application lodged with South Gloucestershire Council shows one incident where roof tiles were broken at the five buildings.

Sprayed-on graffiti and a broken television aerial were among the other acts of criminal damage during one report.

Supporting documents say the graffiti was so hard to remove that normal solvents were having little effect.

Advice from Avon and Somerset police advised the companies to consider a new fence along with a hedge and ditch.

If planning permission is granted the new fence would be some 1.8m high and made from steel.

Companies using Fountain Court include Wards solicitors and aerospace and defence company Piper Group.
