A woman from Bradley Stoke has been refused access to cash in her late husband’s Post Office account, reports the Evening Post.
Valerie Smart’s husband, Gordon, died in Lanzarote in 2006. Mrs Smart closed the account at the time and provided a translated death certificate and other identification.
But the Post Office did not closed the account and is now refusing to give Mrs Smart the £551 remaining it in.
