In our community forum, one user has posed the question: has Bradley Stoke become to messy?
Louisa asks: “Has anyone noticed the dramatic increase in the amount of litter around Bradley Stoke, especially in the hedgerows along the main roads (Bradley Stoke Way for example?)
“Having moved here 3 years ago I remember telling friends how clean and tidy Bradley Stoke was - if they come to visit me now I’m ashamed of the place.”
We’d love to know what you think about this topic.
The Examiner has also been out with a camera to have a look for itself. There were noticable signs of litter along Bradley Stoke Way and in parts of the Three Brooks Nature Reserve.
We’ve posted a few examples of this in our In Pictures section - if you have any more photos, feel free to post them.
What do you think should be done about this problem? Should the district council be making more of an effort to clean up, or should we follow the example of neighbouring Stoke Gifford and start up a volunteer-run litter picking group?
Fill in the form below and we’ll publish the best comments here.

Hmmm, I have to admit I did spot some rubbish on the verge by the Three Brooks pub recently. Perhaps this is all a cause of most of Bradley Stoke driving around in their cars rather than walking. If you drive, you don’t notice it quite as much.

Toxteth has hit the nail on the head… The scale of the litter problem only came to my attention as having had a baby 11 weeks ago I now take long walks around the town with the pram. Last night I walked down to the duck pond and the bin by the bridge is overflowing with bread wrappers - it doesn’t look as though it’s been emptied for weeks. Having said that, you have to question the mentality of the people that feed the ducks only to throw their wrappers onto the ground instead of taking them home with them!

I have to admit, Toxteth and Louisa, I’m quite amazed at the apathy here. Youth crime gets us dozens of replies, but litter just two? Does this mean nobody cares if our town is in a mess?

I really do think that hardly anyone cares about litter.
Certainly the people we see dropping it have no respect for Bradley Stoke. Kids (and yes it is kids a lot of the time) just drop it at their feet rather than keep it and put it in a bin. Do they live like this at home? Have their parents taught them what to do or is it a case of “like father, like son”.
The council are useless - e.g. they have just cut back the shrubs along Brook Way but didn’t bother to pick up the litter revealed by the undergrowth removal.
Everywhere you go you see litter, chewing gum, cigarettes, sweet wrappers, take-away food containers, drinks cans and cartons.
We few seem to care, but we are in a small minority it appears

Newsdesk,
Maybe people just class the two together
