The police have appealed to parents after a night of trouble in Bradley Stoke which saw more than 100 teenagers fighting.
As exclusively revealed in the Examiner, the fight involved gangs who brawled near Bailey’s Court pub on Friday.
One correspondent to the Examiner claimed the trouble was between rivals gangs from neighbouring areas.
Acting Inspector Kevin Thatcher asked parents to “think twice” before dropping off children in the town.
He added: “Local officers were joined by the dog section and the force helicopter before the youths were persuaded to go home.
“Officers who could have been progressing enquiries and dealing with other emergency calls were tied up for around five hours dealing with young people bent on fighting each other.
“This incident was distressing for people who live and work in the area and it’s not the sort of thing this community should have to put up with.
Insp Thatcher added that many of the teens involved were not from Bradley Stoke and some were as young as 12 years old.
“Many of these youngsters were drunk and a number had travelled in from surrounding area.
“We’re concerned that parents are dropping their children off in Bradley Stoke without knowing what they’re planning to get up to. Some of those involved on Friday night were children as young as 12. They shouldn’t have access to alcohol. They are placing themselves in a vulnerable position by staying out until the early hours and drinking.”
In light of the incident, the police are stepping up patrols and taking the names of teenagers and children found in the town.

This has been the 2nd Friday in a row with large gangs of children being drunk and causing problems.
Many under age drinkers are being served in local shops and even served in local pubs.
I have even been made aware that spirits are being served to under ages in local restaurants.
The trouble seems to start with the large gangs of children hanging around the Pavillions and locally Friday night has become known as “drinks night”.
They have adopted the approach of living thier young lives like so called “gangstas” which I’m not sure whether it’s funny or sad !
Someone will get hurt shortly if nothing is done.

i understand where your coming from but people need to understand why this happened it was not due to the lack of alcohol but the lack of attitude from other outside schools and this is why on the 27th april this happened
