Saturday & Sunday’s events
“Several thousand” people attended the highlight of the Bradley Stoke Festival on Saturday.
The residents descended on the Jubilee Centre for stage and arena events, stalls and a football tournament.
Live entertainment was on-hand from the morning until 6pm and dozens of children and adults took part in the football events.
On Sunday, 199 of the 200 runners in the 10k event finished in searing heat. About 30 took part in the walk and another 30 children took part in the tots walk.
A spokeswoman for Bradley Stoke Town Council described it as a “successful weekend”.
The festival continues next weekend with a competition at the skate park and a walk in the woods.
Friday’s events
The first day of the Bradley Stoke Festival got off to a great start with hundreds attending a local produce market in the town.
Produce available included fruit and vegetables, meat, cakes, jewellery and hand made cards.
The success of the market has prompted hopes to make the market a monthly one.
Later on Friday, a childrens’ picnic at the Jubilee Centre was popular with about 200 children and parents attending.
More events, listed below, are due to take place on Saturday and Sunday. We’ll have pictures here on the Examiner website over the weekend - make sure you come back.
