Police priorities set out in four-point plan

Written by Chris (editor) on Wednesday September 26th, 2007 at 5:54 pm

Avon and Somerset Police have set their “priorities” for beat officers in Bradley Stoke.

Inspector Simon Ellis sent out details of the four-point plan which aims to crack down on anti-social behaviour and hate crimes.

The objectives are:

1. To effectively police and monitor the Bradley Stoke Dispersal Zone.

2. To reduce youth-related minor crime and anti-social behaviour, whilst working in partnership with other agencies and the community.

3. In partnership with the Patchway neighbourhood beat team to identify hate related incidents, increase reporting of such incidents and identify and deal with perpetrators.

4. To identify and deal with prioritised community concerns.

Insp Ellis points out these objectives have not been set by public consultation but is “very keen” to hear residents’ views.

He says meetings such as the next Safer, Stronger Community Group sessions will be used for this but adds that door-to-door survey work will be done in the town.

Have your say on the plan - write your comments at the bottom of this page and we’ll publish them here.

    Hi,

Whilst it’s commendable to say that they’ll police the dispersal zone here in Bradley Stoke - I think that there needs to be some joined up thinking here and other agencies HAVE to be involved in this - perhaps offering more to keep the kids off the streets - youth clubs etc.

It would also be nice to see more police around (dare I say this) perhaps just a higher presence but also more checking of the speeders and dangerous drivers in the area.

As for the rest of the points - they’re valid too.

    Just my tuppence worth! :)
