BBC broadcasts spur plans for new community radio station

Bradley Stoke could get its own community radio station, the Examiner has learned.

A meeting, planned for the end of October, will discuss the possibility following the success of the day-long event by the BBC last month.

BBC Radio Bradley Stoke broadcast for 12 hours from Tesco on Radio Bristol’s medium wave frequency.

The day has been described as a “huge success” and has spurred on plans for a station which would broadcast in a limited capacity during events such as the community festival.

The Southern Brooks Community Partnership are organising the meeting at the end of October.
