A man from Bradley Stoke will be charged with the murder of his wife following an incident over the Christmas period.
David Edwards, 48, from Oaktree Crescent, was arrested after his wife, Michaela, 44, was taken to hospital with life-threatning injuries on Thursday, 27 December.
Mr Edwards had already been charged with attempted murder but will now be charged with murder after Mrs Edwards died.
A post-mortem examination on Mrs Edwards is due to take place on Wednesday, Mr Edwards will appear in court on Friday to answer the murder charge.
