The inquest of six-year-old Liam Hogan, who died following a fall from a hotel balcony in Crete, could take place in March.
Liam fell along with his father, John, and sister Mia, who was aged two at the time of the plunge in 2006.
John Hogan, from Bradley Stoke, went on trial recently and was cleared of murdering Liam and the attempted murder of Mia.
The Avon Coroner has given notice that a pre-inquest review will take place on Thursday, 13 March 2008 to consider evidence and whether any witnesses should be called.
If a full inquest is deemed necessary it will take place from Wednesday, 26 March and could last three days.
It has been widely reported in the press that Mr Hogan, who is currently in a Greek hospital, could be released soon.
