Bin leafletSome bin collection dates in Bradley Stoke are to change as South Gloucestershire Council reorganises routes in a bid to “improve efficiency”.

As we reported last month, changes are being made across the district, but at the time is was not clear if Bradley Stoke would be affected.

Southern areas of Bradley Stoke are to remain on Tuesday collections but forum correspondent Owen says central areas are to be moved from Thursday to Friday.

If you have had a leaflet telling you of changes please let us know via the comments facility.

Stephen Petrie, from SITA, added: “By reviewing the routes we aim to reduce missed collections and the likelihood of accidents on the roads.

“This work will also help us to prepare for more population growth and the addition of food waste collections in the future.”

Rather bizarrely we had a card to tell us our day had changed to “Tuesday” - which is the same day as it is now.

Nice to see the council spending our money well!

I’m in Bradley Stoke South, and have changed from Wednesday to Tuesday. Hope the collection time has changed as the binmen always block the road up when I’m trying to get to work.

Mine’s changed from Thursday to Friday (in BS North), and I’ve been told that the next black bin collection will be Friday 21st March, which is Good Friday, so now I’m wondering if that’s right. Will they actually collect my bin on a bank holiday?

Ours hasn’t changed. It’s still on Friday in Bradley Stoke Central. and yes they do collect on some Bank Holidays.

Do you think the bin-men will still leave rubbish strewn all over the street?

Not impressed that our black bin wasn’t collected on the extra day the leaflet promised, specifically to avoid having to go more than 2 weeks without it being emptied, so now it’s going to be almost 3 weeks from one collection to the next.

Brian - that’s not good. Do you want to let us know roughly where you are and I can make some enquiries …

    Anybody else had this problem?
