Demand is still strong for places in Bradley Stoke Community School - the Examiner has been told there were 264 first preference applications for 180 year seven places.
The school has now offered the initial 180 places to pupils which they are now able to either accept or refuse.
Those who didn’t get in are then able to appeal, meaning the final 180 may not be the same as the current choice of pupils.
The secondary school, which opened in 2005, has recently achieved specialist status as a combined languages and performing art facility.
Plans for the addition of a sixth form are also progressing: the latest draft plans go on show at the school this week.
Headteacher Dave Baker tells us the plans will also be on the school website in the next few days - we’re also hoping we’ll be able to feature them here on the Examiner.
Obviously, South Gloucestershire Council will need to gain planning permission for the new building but the plans will at least give us some idea of what the sixth form could look like.
