Signs up for consultation over Aztec West roundabout

Written by Chris (editor) on Thursday April 3rd, 2008 at 8:03 pm

Signs have gone up at Aztec West roundabout advising motorists of a consultation over plans to add bus lanes and widen the road - a story you heard about exclusively from The Bradley Stoke Examiner.

The signs are advertising an online opportunity to have your say on the plans which will see right-hand turns into Woodlands Lane from Bradley Stoke Way banned.

The road running up to the roundabout would be widened under the scheme and new bus lanes added as part of the new Greater Bristol Bus Network.

South Gloucestershire Council believes the new layout would improve traffic flow at the busy junction.

Bradley Stoke Examiner user Andy has added a large version of the plans on Flickr - you can view them by clicking here.

We’d love to hear your views on the plan after seeing the details - hit the comments to have your say.

Update: The BBC have sort-of picked up on this with a story about the motorway junction itself. The solution listed includes the £70m bus network.

Update: We’ve also now added a poll to this site so you can quickly have your say rather than leaving a comment. Use the buttons below to let us know what you think.

I think that before they make any plans for bus lanes. They should make the road markings clearer for people coming into bradley stoke from the A38 (filton)… This roundabout is a death trap in the mornings with drivers not knowing what lanes they should be in. I believe they should get this sorted above anything else.
