Bradley Stoke’s town centre is due to take a big step forward on Monday when the new petrol station - the first part of the development to be completed - opens for use.
The facility has moved closer to the Three Brooks pub with the old site due to be demolished to make way for the town centre “square” and offices.
On Sunday, last minute preparations were being made with white lines being painted and equipment being checked.
The newly rebuilt Tesco is due to open in the Autumn with the rest of the town centre penned in for a 2009 debut.
Update: The petrol station opened on Monday although not without a few teething problems. The Pay@Pump system was not working and at one point the lights on the forecourt all switched off - apparently a trip switch activated.
