Aztec West roundabout plans go on show

Written by Chris (editor) on Sunday April 13th, 2008 at 6:00 am

An exhibition of plans for the busy Aztec West roundabout, which would see new bus lanes built, goes on show on Monday.

South Gloucestershire Council has launched a consultation on the plans which would also see extra traffic lanes added to the busy junction.

But, controversially, as part of the scheme the council wants to ban right turns from Bradley Stoke Way to Woodlands Lane (pictured) meaning local traffic would be diverted up residential streets such as Pear Tree Road.

The scheme is part of the Greater Bristol Bus Network which aims to offer faster public transport corridors into the city centre.

If you want to find out more about the plans then you can go to the Aztec West Centre in the business park between Monday, 14 and Friday, 18 April 2008.

There is also an active discussion on this website about the scheme here.
