KFC in negotiations to open town centre restaurant

Written by Chris (editor) on Monday April 14th, 2008 at 2:41 pm

Fast food firm KFC is in negotiations to open a chain in Bradley Stoke’s new town centre, the Examiner can exclusively reveal.

A spokesperson for the company told this website that they are “continuously looking for suitable locations to expand our portfolio”.

The spokesperson went on to say: “Due to popular demand in the area, we can confirm we are pursuing plans to develop a site in Bradley Stoke which will potentially create 15-20 jobs within the local community.”

The town centre is due to open in 2009 with 15 retail units which will include shops and restaurants.

The Bradley Stoke Examiner was first to reveal last week that a Reflections Hairdressing Salon would be moving in to the new town centre.

Can’t say I’m too pleased at this! How many KFCs does this area need considering there are two within a short distance at Filton and Cribbs? Hopefully we will get at least one decent restaurant in the town centre, something like a Bottelino’s, a local firm that have a good reputation.

Ah well I guess it is only to be expected. In my opinion KFC is rubbish and the last kind of eatery we need. How about some decent restaurants? Other than a fast food burger place, anything would be better than KFC.

Im not mad about fast food, but I much prefer Burger King or Mcdonalds to KFC. I agree, it would be good to see a Bella Italia or a Botellinos in the new development.

Why do we need another KFC????? As Paul has said there are 2 close by. Shouldn’t we try to encourge healthy eating in our New Town Centre???

Apart from being in my opinion the worse of all fast food joints all i can imagine now is Bradley Stoke Covered in KFC wrappers and a surrounding smell od grease. I don’t believe this type of establishment should be encouraged in the develepoment and would much prefer Botellinos.

We need a decent restaurant that can rival those in the centre of Bristol, not KFC or even Botellinos for that matter. And a nice cafe, preferably not a chain but something started by local people. There are lost of reasonably well-off people in the area who could afford to pay for something decent - so please don’t insult us by giving us the usual commercial fast food rubbish.

KFC!! Utter rubbish, in more ways than one. Junk food, that Bradley Stoke does not need and more rubbish strewn around to be picked up by local residents that have some pride in where they live. A fast food joint like this is NOT what we want.

I agree with Sandy, we need a decent restaurant on a par with the more upmarket ones in the City Centre not fast food chains!!

I bet all the vegetarians out there will be really pleased as KFC don’t sell any vegetarian options (They won’t even sell you chips on their own!!).
I can imagine most of BS residents would like a proper restaurant which sells healthy, tasty food.

Oh lordy, we really dont need any more fast food to tempt our children. Luckily my kids wouldnt eat at KFC. A chaiin such as Zizi would be great- affordable fresh Italian food, even a pizza Express would be better than KFC- i wonder if anyone with any authority reads this- its very obvious that KFC is NOT what we want in Bradley Stoke!

What a load of &*@*^, I cannot believe the moans and groans - ANYTHING is better than nothing! This not Clifton! If you want decent restaurants catch a bus there (or drive). Bradley Stoke needs a popular heart not an oasis for the pretentious minority. Take a look at how popular Yate Town Centre is. Dianne Sheppard - come up with something more constructive - who says we don’t want it?
