Youth gang problem resurfacing at Bailey’s Court, says resident

A group of about 15 youths are making life a misery for residents near Bailey’s Court Activity Centre in Bradley Stoke, according to a resident.

The area has been the flashpoint for fights involving up to 100 people in the past year, and has been one of the causes of the recent police dispersal zone in the town.

But now, an anonymous resident has told The Bradley Stoke Examiner that the problems are beginning to resurface.

“There seem to be a hardcore 15 or so there every evening from around six until late, they are then joined by another 10-15 on at least every other evening,” the resident said.

“They make loads of noise. There is screaming from girls mainly. Their mates come down in cars and mopeds and bikes and are wheel spinning in the car park most nights.

“The noise has had many residents looking at their windows and shouting for them to shut up.”

The resident says the police have been contacted “at least” seven times in the past two weeks and is calling on officers to make more frequent visits to the area.

“I think that another dispersal order is needed urgently before the summer comes and it gets much worse,” our source told us.
