Aztec West roundabout consultation received more than 100 replies

The consultation into changes at Aztec West roundabout received more than 100 replies, according to South Gloucestershire Council.

The proposal for the roundabout would see extra bus lanes added and some extra traffic lanes in a bid to relieve some of the congestion in the area.

Controversially, though, the council wants to ban right turns from Bradley Stoke Way into Woodlands Lane – a move criticised by readers of this website.

A spokesperson for the council said: “Over the next few weeks, the council will be considering the correspondence received and will respond to those who commented on the scheme before considering making any necessary amendments to the scheme.”

The proposed changes to the roundabout are part of the Greater Bristol Bus Network.

You know what worries me? They’ve essentially said that they’re going ahead with it despite people’s objections – I actually wonder if the people of Bradley Stoke realise what they’re in for? A 100 comments for a peice of road that’s used by 1000’s of cars daily isn’t alot is it? :(

Just had a lengthy email from Mouchel that the council asked for them to forward – basically listing all the points people have made and basically finding ways to still get their own point across. Their ultimate aim is allegedly to improve bus use to Aztec West by 12% – which would help if there were actually services there from all of Bradley Stoke! Council consultations listening again! D’oh!
