A five-year-old girl, who faced a school walk of more than two miles through the Three Brooks Nature Reserve, has been given a place closer to her home.
Millie did not gain a place at the first three schools her parents wanted her to go and could have ended up at Bowsland Green.
South Gloucestershire Council wanted Gavin and Karen Peters to use a walking route through an unlit section of the reserve.
But now, St Mary’s Primary School has stepped in to offer Millie a place meaning her school run will be less than half a mile.
