Councillor Robert Jones has been appointed as mayor, taking over from Julian Barge, following Wednesday’s Bradley Stoke Town Council Annual General Meeting, the Bradley Stoke Journal reports.

Cllr Jones represents Bailey’s Court, is also a South Gloucestershire Councillor and has served as chair of the Finance & Leisure committee for the past year.

The meeting also confirmed, as we’ve been reporting at The Bradley Stoke Examiner, that Northavon Bowls Club and the town council, still have not agreed a rental deal.

The bowlers now have until next Wednesday to remove their equipment from the green at Bailey’s Court.
