Five teens arrested after “unprovoked assault” on man

Five teenagers have been arrested after a man was treated for concussion from an “unprovoked assault” in Bradley Stoke.

The attack took place on The Common East – part of Patchway Common – on Friday, 20 June 2008, at around 5.45pm when the victim was walking home from work.

Avon and Somerset Police say the man was spat at before an “exchange of words”. The victim was then surrounded by the gang who punched him several times.

The victim then fell to the floor when he was kicked and punched before the gang left in the direction of Brook Way.

Two women helped the victim who was taken to Frenchay Hospital and treated for cuts, bruises and concussion.

Five teenagers were arrested and later bailed. Police are calling for witnesses to contact Staple Hill police station on 0845 4567000.
