Nursery under threat after office planning application is lodged

Butterfly Day Nursery in Bradley Stoke may have to move after a planning application was lodged for a new office complex to replace the childcare facility.

Developers want to build a new three-storey building on the site at Great Park Road in the far north of the town.

If permission was granted it would mean the current nursery building would be demolished to make way.

The Bradley Stoke Examiner understands the nursery is currently looking for new premises and have been told they would have to move “middle to late next year [2009]“.

The nursery wants to stay in Bradley Stoke but has yet to find a suitable replacement building.

Architects for the new scheme said any new building could have the “capacity to ensure [it] could take the nursery”.
