Tesco Pay@Pump petrol system finally working in Bradley Stoke

Pay-at-the-pump facilities at the Tesco filling station have finally begun working after a wait of more than five months.

The new filling station was opened in April 2008 but the supermarket’s Pay@Pump system has been non-functional ever since.

A new system, which forces card-paying motorists to enter their PIN number before filling up, was installed two weeks ago and the system finally came online this week.

The past five months have seen traffic queuing at the forecourt while motorist pay for fuel at the tills – the frustrating waits could be close to an end.

There was a huge queue at lunch time today at the petrol station. Have the pay at pump machines broken down already? or are they just as slow as paying in the shop?

There certainly was a queue last night but the Pay@Pump was definitely working – I used it. I wonder if a lot of the motorists don’t realise it’s back up-and-running yet?

The Bradley Stoke Tesco PFS is apparently the 6th busiest Tesco petrol station in the country. Once people get use to the new pay@pump it should speed things up.

The new cash machine is also causing delays where people leave their cars at the pumps and get their cash etc., as well as paying for their fuel in the kiosk.
