Voting is under way in the Meadowbank by-election with Conservative and Liberal Democrats candidates contesting the town council seat.
The poll was sparked after Conservative member Caroline Charlton resigned her position.
Local resident Paul Turner will stand on behalf of the Conservatives while South Gloucestershire Councillor and Bradley Stoke resident Jon Williams will stand for the Lib Dems.
Voting will take place at Christ the King Church until 10pm on Thursday, 2 October 2008.
