A development featuring two semi-detached homes on Great Meadow Road in Bradley Stoke looks unlikely to happen after a string of objections.
Among the objectors to the plans in the road near Bailey’s Court Primary School are the town council who say the homes would result in “overdevelopment”.
The consultation reply goes on to say the plan would result “in additional traffic and parking problems and is not in keeping with neighbouring dwellings”.
Several other objections were lodged by neighbours – including one who said: “I am extremely concerned that the new houses will have a huge overshadowing impact on the back of my house”.
Meanwhile, a development in Ormonds Close which would see a single house built has also found objection from the town council.
The planning committee joined more than half a dozen complainants saying the development would constitute “overdevelopment of the site”.
They added the proposal “will detract from the visual amenity of the area and increase traffic and parking problems”.
“The likely requirement to erect scaffolding on neighbouring properties and public open space during construction also gives cause concern.”
