Two new homes for Great Meadow Road despite objections

A controversial housing development in Great Meadow Road has been given the thumbs-up by planners.

Great Meadow Road (From South Gloucs planning)Two semi-detatched houses could now be built on land which is currently used for parking subject to a £3,000 contribution towards the North Fringe Development Proposal (Transport Matters) initiative.

Residents living near the site complained to South Gloucestershire Council saying the homes would result in loss of privacy.

But planner added a stipulation saying no windows will be added to the north and south sides of the buildings.

Bradley Stoke Town Council also registered their objection to the district saying it would result in “over-development”.

Adding to the controversy, a management company claimed they had a lease for the land which did not expire for another 80 years.

The development went all the way to the Development Control (West) committee who gave the homes the green light despite all the objections.
