The Bradley Stoke pub in the north of the town is to close for two weeks for a refit, The Bradley Stoke Examiner has learned.

The refit, which will see a carvery take the place of big screens showing Sky Sports, will take place from April 20.

A spokeswoman for the pub told us that the carvery will be in operation for the weekend but food will be served all week.

She added the pub’s owners wanted to move away from live sports and “more towards food”.

The Toby Carvery will now have a close rival. Perhaps this is why they are now taking table bookings, Monday to Saturday.

Great. Another carvery. If they opened a Tesco Express next to it then the job would be done.

Superb planning by all concerned, has it not crossed anyones mind that some people would just like to go out for a beer and a chat with friends without feeling like they are in a restaurant. Two Carverys in the space of a mile and no football on tv congratulations to all involved in this white elephant
