A proposed redevelopment of Bradley Stoke’s Jubilee Centre is set to be discussed by the town council this week.
The Bradley Stoke Examiner revealed in January that the town council was considering ditching a move to the Willow Brook Centre.
The alternative was to add a second floor to the nearby Jubilee Centre – a matter which has been discussed by councillors as far back as last December.
It is thought the renovation of the Jubilee Centre would work out less expensive than the move to the Willow Brook Centre.
The plans show four new town council offices on one side of the the new floor with a meeting room and a larger office room on the other side.
A lift would be added in the middle of the current atrium and a new staircase would be added near the current reception area.
But, the meeting agenda already says that – despite considerable interest – the public and press may be excluded during discussions.
The full council meeting will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 18 March at the Jubilee Centre.

This is typical of our council – anything that involves spending our money and we don’t get the right to attend the meeting and voice any concerns we may have!!!
It will be interesting to see residents are allowed to see the tenders for the work!!

Oh, Tesco’s too expensive now? And out lovely grey town centre has yet more empty spaces.
As an aside, does anyone else wonder if we will have any shops other than fast food, estate agents and mobile phone outlets?
