More objections to revised home plan on Ormonds Close

More objections have been lodged to a proposed home on land in Ormonds Close – despite the plan being scaled down from three to one bedrooms.

The original three-bedroom home plan was withdrawn earlier this year and a new scheme was proposed in March.

The smaller home has drawn criticism from both the town council and neighbouring residents.

Councillors, for a second time, have said the home would result in “overdevelopment” of the area and have pointed to potential parking problems.

They added: “The likely requirement to erect scaffolding on neighbouring properties and public open space during construction also gives cause for concern.”

Meanwhile, nearby residents have said car parking would give them cause for concern as the plan only caters for one parking space.

Other concerns include access to a shared driveway by neighbours, disruption from delivery drivers and insufficient space to store construction materials and tools.
