A proposed extension to a home in Juniper Way, Bradley Stoke, is facing objection from the town council and local residents.
The owners of number 283 want to expand their home over half of their two-car garage.
But neighbours are citing a loss of light among their concerns which could see the home eventually become a seven bedroom dwelling.
Bradley Stoke Town Council, in its submission to the district, said the proposal would result in “over development”.
They added: “It will have detrimental affect on the local amenities and overlook neighbouring properties.
“Inadequate parking for what is effectively a 6/7 bedroom house. The application should be called in.”
Other residents complained about the proposal being out of character for the area and aired concerns over car parking.
One said: “I would also believe the proposed extension would not be in keeping with the current properties within the cul-de-sac and would cause a problem of parking if further living space is needed.”
The owners of the property behind 283 added that, because of low light levels, any new development would “greatly exacerbate this situation”.
A decision on the plan is likely to be made by the end of June.

Don’t you think the same can be said for the tesco extra! We all have no choice but to shop at tesco extra or the express and yes we have a little aldi. All our other shops are moving to the willow brook centre paying tesco ltd to do so. Bradly Stoke? Why not call our town tesco Stoke! Yes, I get that the tesco makes jobs but please all we have is tesco this and that

If there was no supermarket in Bradley Stoke people would moan that they had to travel miles to the nearest one. The new town centre has and is creating lots of new jobs which in this economic climate can only be a good thing, yes they arnt exactly highly paid jobs but this shouldn’t be something to snigger about. As for the Expresses, yes it is a shame there is not any independent shops in Bradley Stoke anymore but the prices in the small expresses are cheaper than you would generally find in any small independents.

Strangely the original post was left on this story – left it on as I don’t like taking them off, unless there’s good reason to do so
