Residents get chance to quiz First Bus over axed routes

Bradley Stoke residents will have the chance to grill bosses of First Bus at a meeting in Thornbury.

Managers from the firm, which has axed buses in Bradley Stoke, will appear at the Planning, Transportation and Strategic Environment Select Committee.

First recently axed the 74 and X74 services from the town to the city centre despite opposition.

Then mayor, councillor Rob Jones, said when the cuts were announced it was “death by a thousand cuts for these services”.

Jenny MacLeod, operations director, and Simon Cursio, commercial director will answer questions from the public and district councillors.

Pat Hockey, who chairs select committee, said: “Members of the public are always welcome to attend our select committee meetings, to raise issues, ask questions or present petitions.

“If you can’t make it along yourself, you can contact your local councillor and ask them to raise questions on your behalf.”

Thanks Paul – I think I must have written that half asleep. Who, what, where, when … I got some of it in.
