Sheffield Judo competition bags trio of winners for Bradley Stoke

Three members of Bradley Stoke Judo Club have been crowned national champions at the British Schools National Judo Championships.

The event, held in Sheffield last weekend, was a talent identification competition.

Now, all three have been invited to join the England Judo Squad at their training sessions.

Kelly Wilson (Kingsfield School), 14, Jordan Knight (Filton College), 16 and Adam Bourne (Monks Park School), 13, now have their eyes on fulfilling their ambitions of Olympic competition.

Bradley Stoke Judo Club trio face Sheffield competition

Three children from Bradley Stoke Judo Club are to take part in a prestigious competition in Sheffield this month.

The trio – Kelly, Jordan and Adam – will take part in the British Schools Chamionship in the South Yorkshire city on 28 March.

More than 300 from across the UK have entered the contest which will take place at the English Institute of Sport.

Later in the year, the club will also be competing in an impressive array of events in locations such as High Wycombe, Salisbury, Kent and Hampshire.

Bradley Stoke Judo Club bags eight medals in French competition

Bradley Stoke Judo Club is celebrating an amazing haul of eight medals at an event in France during the past two days.

The international event, at Grisolles near Toulouse, saw the squad pick up two golds, three silvers and three bronze medals.

The winners in full are – Gold: Alan Gibson & Marc Arsac; Silver: Elliot Gallagher, Bethan Andrews & Kelly Wilson; Bronze: Adam Bourne, Louis Arsac & Marc Arsac.

Many congratulations to the team for a fantastic performance which has seen them invited back to the event next year.

Gold success for Bradley Stoke’s Judo Joe Beasant

Bradley Stoke’s Joe Beasant has won a gold medal fighting for his country during a European Championship Judo event in Beverwijk, Holland.

Joe won the prize for the Great Britain Special Needs team after emerging victorious from a pool of six at the event which took place near Amsterdam.

His success at the weekend also saw him scoop a bronze in a separate class after coming third in a pool of five.

Joe was the first person to represent Great Britain from Bradley Stoke Judo Club.
