The Bradley Stoke Examiner is starting a new series of blogs looking at life in the town from a personal perspective.
The first person to begin blogging is the ‘BS Biker’ - a man from the town who bikes into work in the city centre every day. Read his first entry below.

Rain. Nasty business. Gets you wet when you’re out walking. Gets you even more wet when you’re out biking.
That’s why, to my eternal shame, I’ve not ridden my bike in during the recent wet patch around these ‘ere parts. The car keys have come out and I’ve added - sort of - to the city’s jammed road network.
I say sort of because actually on Friday I worked at home, and then Monday and Tuesday I’ve driven in much earlier than I normally would to avoid those amazing queues on Gipsy Patch Lane. But, I’ve discovered they start long before I would normally drive by at 7.30am.
Which leads me to ask the question: why do they not widen the railway bridge on Gipsy Patch Lane? If the collective authorities wanted to do something to help both motorists and cyclists then there’s one answer. It might be expensive, it might disrupt the trains, but imagine how much happier everybody would be afterwards.
The road would flow much better for those on four wheels and would make it safer for those on two.
It also doesn’t help, while I’ve got everyone’s attention, that there’s a bus depot on the road either! Who had that brainwave? A bus depot next to the narrowest railway bridge for miles?
I’m back on the (or is that ‘in the’?) saddle tomorrow. The weather forecast is good. Ask me again on Friday if I braved the storms predicted for the last day of the week!
