Sita apologises after green box collection mix-up

April 7th, 2008 · No Comments

Waste firm Sita has apologised after a mix-up left homeowners on Champs-sur-Marne in Bradley Stoke without a green recycling box collection.

The firm, which is contracted by South Gloucestershire Council to collect waste in the town, has recently changed bin and recycling collection days to make rounds “more efficient”.

Residents on the street, along with the rest of Bradley Stoke, were informed of the changes through a collection calendar left pinned to bins.

But the firm left the wrong calendar on the bins and had to send a correction to Champs-sur-Marne householders by post.

Last Friday, the firm says the black bin and green bin collection went ahead as planned but a mistake meant the green recycling box collection did not take place.

A spokesman for Sita told The Bradley Stoke Examiner: “We should have… collected the green box and bag last Friday but this did not happen due to human error.

“We will correct this by making sure they receive a green box collection by the end of tomorrow [Tuesday].

“We apologise for both mistakes but would like to assure the householder that we are making sure we resolve the situation as a matter of priority.”
