The Bradley Stoke Examiner is two years old - and still going strong!

The website celebrated its birthday on Saturday, the same day the new town centre was named the Willow Brook Centre.

In the past 24 months this website has been visited by tens of thousands of people and broken dozens of stories in the town.

We have even been highly commended in regional awards alongside websites produced by traditional media firms.

The Bradley Stoke Examiner has been Highly Commended at the annual EDF Energy South West Media Awards.

We went head-to-head with publications such as thisiscornwall, thisissouthdevon and thisisplymouth.

This website was praised for breaking stories such as the 100-strong teen brawl which took place at Bailey’s Court last year and the distinctive community interaction.

The eventual winner was thisiscornwall who drew praise from the judges for its extensive use of video.

Twitter is a fancy new website gadget that, among other things, allows people using it to post quick, direct messages from mobile phones.

What’s this got to do with the Examiner? Well, we’ve got a new Twitter feed that allows us to post messages very quickly.

We’re trying it out for a few weeks to see if it’s useful and experimenting with how we could use it.

You could see messages about where we’re out-and-about reporting to live reports of traffic problems - you never know!

You might have noticed a few new features around the website - including improved search facilities and our new fancy mailing list.

If you want to search for a specific item we’ve published cast your eyes top right for that.
